What it is and when to use it

Quantity breaks give customers a better price when they buy more units of the same product. For example: 1 unit at the regular price, or 2 units at 15% off.

Use it when your goal is to sell more units per order. It works well for products people buy again or in packs, like refills, cosmetics, socks or snacks. In the template gallery it’s marked Recommended to start, so it’s a great first offer.

How it looks for shoppers

On the product page, shoppers see one option per tier. Each tier shows its title, a subtitle, the price for that quantity with the original price crossed out, and a label such as “SAVE $6.00”. One tier can start selected and carry a badge like “MOST POPULAR”.

The shopper picks a tier and adds it to the cart. The discount is applied automatically in the cart and at checkout.

How to create it

  1. In BOGOX, click Create offer on the Home page, or open Templates in the app menu.

  2. In the list, choose Quantity breaks for the same product. The Store preview shows how it will look.

  3. Optional: pick one of the color palettes, or choose Brand to use your Brand colors.

  4. Click Use this template. The editor opens with the offer ready to adjust.

  5. In Products, choose where the offer appears under Show offer on: All products, Specific products or Specific collections.

  6. Adjust your tiers in Discount tiers (see the next section) and check the Preview.

  7. Click Publish to make the offer live. Not ready yet? Use Save in the bar at the top to keep it as a draft.

The new offer starts with 2 tiers: 1 unit at the regular price, and 2 units at 15% off. The 2-unit tier starts selected, with a “MOST POPULAR” badge.

If the offer doesn’t show on your store, check that BOGOX is turned on in your theme: Online Store > Themes > Customize > App embeds, then Save.

Key settings to adjust

In Discount tiers, click a tier to open it. Under Quantities and pricing, Tier text and Selection options you’ll find:

  • Quantity: how many units the shopper buys in this tier.

  • Pricing: choose No discount, Percentage off, Amount off or Fixed price. Then enter the Discount per item, or the Tier total price if you chose a fixed price.

  • Title, Subtitle and Discount label: the texts of the tier. The button on the right of each field inserts values such as the saved percentage or the saved total, which update on their own.

  • Selected by default: tick it on the tier you want shoppers to see already chosen, usually your best-value tier.

To add a 3-unit tier or more, click Add tier and choose Quantity discount. You can have up to 20 tiers. The tier’s actions menu lets you Duplicate or Delete it, and you can drag tiers to reorder them.

To edit the “MOST POPULAR” badge, go to Extras and open Badges. There you can change its text and colors, choose the tier it’s attached to, or remove it.

Tip

Two or three tiers are usually enough. Make the discount grow with the quantity and preselect the tier you want most people to choose. The starter texts are only examples, so rewrite the titles and labels in your own words.
